FAQ
We understand how important your child's first day at daycare is, and we are dedicated to making it a smooth and positive transition. Our caring and experienced staff will support your child every step of the way, helping them feel safe, comfortable, and excited to start their new adventure with us. To help prepare your child for their first day, some items to consider bringing are:
Comfortable clothing suitable for play and the weather, including an extra set of clothes in case of spills or accidents.
Naptime essentials, such as a small blanket or a favorite stuffed toy.
Diapers and wipes (if your child is not toilet-trained) or any other specific toileting supplies.
Bottles or sippy cups
Any necessary medications with clear instructions and authorization.
A labeled bag or backpack to keep their items organized.
Comfort item or transitional object (if your child has one) to help them feel secure.
Feel free to ask for a checklist specific to our program, and remember, we’re here to help make your child's first day comfortable and happy!
Handling naps for our kiddos involves creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment that encourages relaxation. We establish a consistent routine to help children know when it’s time to rest, and prepare a quiet, cozy space with mats, blankets, and soft lighting to make nap time inviting.
Children are encouraged to bring personal comfort items, like stuffed animals or blankets, to help them feel secure. Before naps, we engage in calming activities such as reading or playing soft music to help children wind down. During rest time, we stay nearby to monitor and support children, especially those who may need extra comfort or have difficulty settling.
We recognize that each child’s needs are unique, so we respect individual rest requirements. We also use gentle signals, like a soothing routine, to transition children into nap time. Overall, our goal is to create a peaceful environment where every child feels safe and ready to rest.
In our classroom, we believe in positive behavior support and guiding children to understand appropriate ways to express themselves. We set clear, consistent expectations and use age-appropriate strategies such as gentle reminders, redirection, and praise for good behavior. When conflicts arise, we help children learn problem-solving skills and encourage empathy. Our goal is to create a respectful, safe environment where children feel valued and learning self-control is part of their growth. If challenges persist, we work closely with families to develop consistent approaches that support each child's individual needs.
We use Brightwheel to keep parents updated on their child's daily activities. Through this app, we share photos, notes, and reports on nap times, meals, activities, and milestones. It also allows us to communicate directly with parents if their child needs anything or if there are any concerns. I believe that consistent and transparent communication helps build trust and supports each child's development. Parents can stay connected and involved in their child's day-to-day experiences, no matter how busy their schedules are.
